Sitting & walking meditation with a Dharma talk.

A Sangha is a community of friends practicing the dharma together to bring about and to maintain awareness. The essence of a sangha is awareness, understanding, acceptance, harmony and love.  

Hal Dessel has been meditating since 1964.  He is a psychotherapist in Milwaukee specializing in addictions and trauma recovery.  Mindfulness and 12 Step Spirituality are core to both his professional and personal life.  His practice and teaching are in the spirit of Thich Nhat Hanh and Insight Meditation Socielty.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.  It is administered by "laying on of hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. 

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being.

Reiki healers, Joe & Gloria Wittig,  Linda & Edgu Kocinski, Robert Matuszak and Annette Dillion will be available in the sanctuary following service for anyone interested.   Each session is 15 minutes.   A sign-up sheet will be available Sunday, August 6th.

September 28 to November 2, 2017

Join us for this 6 week class where we will incorporate level 2 practices for increasing self awareness, calmness, strength, and flexibility.  Students can practice within their comfort level in a serene, supportive environment. 

Each class begins with a centering practice followed by limbering movements.  Beginning level posses will precede level 2 practices.  Movements are done in a slow, meditative style, with deep diaphragmatic breathing, increasing the flow of life energy for health and wellbeing.  Relaxation and breathing techniques help to prepare us for a seated meditation.

Yoga invites us "to join" our individual consciousness with Universal Consciousness where we experience our Divine nature of love, joy and inner peace so that we live creatively to our potential in our everyday life. 

Please dress comfortably for movement, bring a yoga mat, a small cushion and a light shawl or blanket.
